Respite Care

Now, you can enjoy the moment or attend to that meeting or event without worrying much. Our respite caregivers are sure to be up for the task. Respite care services can be carried out for different time-periods, when you need and how much time you need. Care can be scheduled for hours, days, weeks, and other short term care. Proper arrangement should be made from you so that a no-hassle respite care provision can be seen.

Respite caregivers can provide, even in the short time, a committed care service for you. Care includes assistance to taking baths and toilet care. Your medications will also be given to you. Other services are personal hygiene and grooming, companionship services, meal preparation and feeding, bed-side support and care, medication reminders, transportation assistance, and recreational activities you wish to enjoy.

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, stimulating and recreational support and supervision both in the home and in the community according to the individuals needs
• Provide respite/support services as requested by the parent/guardian
• Punctual, reliable and respectful of the family
• Network with community groups, facilitate inclusion and act as a positive role model
• Communicate with the D.D.H.C Program Manager

Qualifications:

• Ability and willingness to work with persons with disabilities
• Experience providing care, support and supervision to persons with disabilities is an asset
• Effective communication skills with both verbal and non-verbal populations
• Commitment to providing quality life experiences in home and in the community
• Clear Police Criminal Reference Check & references
• Full day of D.D.H.C Orientation Session
• First Aid, CPR and the ability to work independently.
